Back to the topic, I'd choose Stellar. Why? Because she's cuter and unscheming,
though her occasional craziness was quite scary. Stellar isn't my favourite (female) character, though she's far from being
the least. It seemed to me that Shinn was at his least bratiness when he was
with Stellar. Though after Stellar died, he went on his killing spree in the
name of revenge, and cherishing his memories with Stellar by immediately turning
to another girl.
(This isn't supposed to count, but Stellar's image song Kuwashima Houko - Shinkai no Kodoku is one of my favourite
songs.)
I never expected there to be so many Luna/Shinn supporters. Luna was so
irritating during the beginning of Destiny, in the way she kept trying to get
him to notice her (she failed, though Athrun
never showed any affection to anyone other than Cagalli). To me, she and Shinn
kinda seemed to be thrown together, after Stellar's death and Athrun's escape. I
mean, she herself showed some craziness in developing feelings for the guy whom

I agree with the many people who say that the GS Kira is cuter, but GSD Kira is
more mature and good-looking. I'll definitely choose Kira on this, though Shinn
looks cute in a couple of pictures.

I sure was feeling pretty bleak when i first read this thread. Removing the
blushes and changing kisses on the lips to the cheek sound like really big
changes. I definitely like the original more on this. A kiss on the cheek
reminds me of the kiss Kira gave Lacus in GS (ep 48), back when i believed he
hadn't really loved her yet. (ok, that's just my opinion. Don't take offense,
KiraLacus fans ) I really don't like this similarity. It sounds like Fukuda's trying to tone
down their relationship even this early in GSD.
Did Athrun hold and look at the Haumeya in the original GSD? I really don't
remember him doing that. Was he even wearing it? I would like to think so, but i
haven't rewatched GSD, so i really don't remember much. Anyway, if he didn't,
that addition to the GSD Special Edition is definitely welcomed.

Fukuda was trying to path the way for BOTH pairs, by giving hints here and there
YET not giving concrete proof of who ending up with whom. Athrun and Meyrin may
treat each other as friends now, but anything COULD happen, if Cagalli and
Athrun are continually put away from each other, and Athrun and Meyrin keep
going everywhere together (my, it pains me even to type this part out). This is
so as to keep us all drawn to the third installment to GS (well, that, and to
make asucaga and asumey fans kill each other off).
The thing is, it's working. Had it been asucaga at the end of GSD, asucaga fans
(and yes, there are a lot of them) will rejoice and yup, with no more sequels,
as the saying goes, "out of sight, out of mind", people tend to put
this whole "oh, he almost got together with another girl" thing to the
back of their minds. HOWEVER, now that he
created this "dilemma", people will keep analyzing the series, and
well, it holds their interest. I believe this is some kind of marketing
strategy, so to speak. Keep them guessing, and they'll probably want to watch

Just compare the number of KiraLacus and AsuCaga threads (or posts) there are in
just THIS forum. As much as i love happy endings, it is the unexpected or sad
ones that i ALWAYS remember, and the happy ones that i usually forget
about.

Kira looked great with Freedom, and especially Strike Freedom. I like the way he
battles (the skilled disabling), and it was really fun to see him finish off
those small fry in a matter of seconds (Ep 39, anyone?) The thing is, Kira
looked really weird at the beginning of GSD. Did he really just sit there and
stare out to nothingness everyday for 2 years? (if it's true, i really pity Lacus) That just doesn't
sound realistic.
As for Shinn, it was just pure fun watching him get punched by Athrun (you have
to admit that part was cool). Sorry Shinn fans, but it's just that i can't
really think of anything good to say about him, other than the fact that he was
the cause of the whole asucaga comforting part (swwwweet!) in Ep 5 GSD.
But when it comes right down to it, Athrun's the hottest and the coolest (hmm..
sounds like i'm contradicting myself here, haha) guy of the three. Gotta love
the blue hair and green eyes *sigh*.
I think Meyrin's a good girl, and not a bad match for Athrun (well, how she
saved his life and everything), but i just can't understand how anyone would
choose Meyrin over Cagalli after watching Gundam Seed. I don't hate Meyrin;

that (if there really is a GS Eternity), Fukuda would give Meyrin someone else
who's nice too, but just don't take Athrun!

series (like Fllay). As least her death was good and memorable, and i just loved

Back to asucaga. Some argue that it wasn't really love back then (during the
time of the final battle of GS). I agree with that. Love just doesn't come so
easily, but Athrun had been at Cagalli's side for TWO whole years, and the
whatever they had at the end of GS was given time to really evolve into
something greater. Well, from the rate at which they were falling in love in GS,
i would say their love was be pretty strong by the time GSD started. And the way
he protected her during the first few episodes of GSD was really just great to
watch. The final hug worried me a little (the 'what does it really mean?! '
part, i mean. The hug looked great by itself.), but when Athrun said that
there's no need to hurry, since their goals were the same, it really comforted
me a lot.
